The xbox 360 version has the most tables.. The most detailed tables, and is fun to play by all ages.. If you can find a copy buy it! You will have hours and hours of fun playing this game.

5 out of 5 stars Pinball Wizard   August 10, 2010

I am a retro-nut. I love revisiting the time period in which I grew up, so I often buy games featuring ports of games I've played in the past. Having played most of the games featured on this title, I knew it was a must-buy.

I have to say, the game is incredibly well done. Although nothing can duplicate the feeling of playing an actual pinball machine, this comes pretty close and saves you a few grand trying to get them into your house. They captured the music and the sounds, adding the little grainy distortion from the old speakers rather than cleaning them up and making them HD. Also, the physics engine is incredible; they captured the feel right down to the place you pull the plunger back on "Taxi" to get a 95% guaranteed 100,000 points on the spinout. And, to keep it from being too dull, they add little table challenges you have to complete in order to unlock other features. And some games, like "Gorgar," make it pretty darn challenging.

If you grew up in the age of the arcade and loved to play the tables, this is the game for you. It's cheaper and less space-consuming than trying to get the actual machines yourself. My only complaint would be there aren't MORE games in here (though there are additional games on the next gen system versions), but I got the games I wanted when I bought this, so I'm pretty happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars Addictive fun!! GREAT VALUE!   August 9, 2010

I used to go to the arcades mainly to play video games but Pin*Bot was the 1st if not only pinball machine that caught my eye & "stole" my quarters before the original NES came out & pretty much made me a home gamer so when I saw Pin*Bot was one of the lower rated games on this collection, I had to check it out. This collection is indeed great. I don't own a PS3 yet. I plan to next April when Marvel vs. Capcom 3 debuts. For now the PS2 version is great & only set me back $1.00 brand new plus shipping. I don't think there's a dud on the game unlike the Gottlieb collection which has a few duds, maybe more than hits even. The worst game here is probably about as good as the best game there.

My brother is getting the PS3 version. The extra tables look like a lot of fun esp. based on the reviews here for that version. I'd say if you don't have a PS3 or are on an extremely tight budget this is a nice pick-up. Otherwise get the PS3 version for a top notch experience.

Another note: I'm by no means a pinball wizard but I did do the Williams challenge in less than a week. It took me a few times to get a good enough score on Pin*Bot but I was then able to run the rest of the tables in the 1st or 2nd try. Some were close calls but I made it so you don't have to be an expert at all. I haven't even unlocked all the normal table goals on many games (Space Shuttle, Gorgar, & Pin*bot I did) let alone the Wizard goals. Hopefully this means I won't have too much trouble unlocking Jive Time on my brothers PS3 copy.

Edit - Wow when I went in to review the PS3 version it told me I already did so I guess I have to edit my PS2 review because it count's the same.

Medieval Madness, No Good Gofers, Sorcerer, & Nights of Arabia are all well worth $5.00 each to upgrade from PS2 to PS3. If you don't have the PS2 version, it's an even better deal. The Williams challenge only took me about 4 tries so it's highly doable though I had some close calls. Jive Time is a big disappointment as a reward. It's probably closest to Ace High of the Gottlieb collection with wide open sides. I felt better about the accomplishment than I did about the unlock so as someone else said, don't fret if you can't unlock Jive Time. With EVERY other game being cool, you likely won't spend much time on it anyway.

5 out of 5 stars Everything you want in an authentic pinball   August 9, 2010

An excellent value--every table is a hit, and beautifully recreated in HD for the PS3. In my opinion, an even more impressive product than the ever-popular Zen Pinball, simply because it translates exactly the feel of real pinball to the console. Simply put, the best pinball game currently available on any console, and probably the best pinball video game ever.

5 out of 5 stars This takes me back to the 70's   August 5, 2010

This game is a blast to play. They did an amazing job of replicating the look and feel of the classic Williams arcade pinball games. I used to play "Gorgar" when I was a kid, and they captured the feel of the game exactly the way that I remembered it. Since each player plays in turn, you can have 4 people playing with just a single remote. This is the perfect edition for a "70's" theme party.
